So, why co-working? “What are you building again?”

So, why co-working? My answer is Why NOT co-working?!

Every time I mention that Zac and I are opening a coworking space, 99% of the people I talk to have no  idea what I’m talking about. When explaining further, most ask “Why?”, or “Why can’t someone just do that from home, or a coffee shop?”. The answer I always give is super simple, it’s because of community.

When Zac bought his building a few years back, he noticed that he was the only other person at the office at 8, 9, or even 10pm. And that gets lonely. Feeling like you are the only person putting in the hours, putting in the work. But hey, entrepreneurship can feel that way A LOT. Even just working from home can make a remote worker feel super lonely. In an article from the Harvard Business Review in  2023, researchers found that lonely employees suffer from lower performance and poorer wellbeing. We wanted to change that.

By choosing a co-working or shared workspace you are automatically creating a community mindset.  Opening up to collaboration, networking and socialization, plus being surrounded by a plethora of  businesses and diversity of experience levels helps you feel like you are a part of something bigger than  just yourself. Seeing people putting their heads down and hustling toward their dreams is contagious, if  not inspiring.

Building relationships is another key part in the coworking atmosphere. A study by Emergent Research  shows that 79% of co-working members have reported an increase in their professional networks. That’s  something you can’t get from your home office. Building your network means building your  relationships, and building relationships means you have more opportunities to find people who think,  act, and work like you!

So, why co-working? My answer is Why NOT co-working?! Take your business to the next level by  surrounding yourself with big thinkers, huge dreamers, and people who are ready to do what it takes to  carry out their big lofty goals.
